Turkana University College (TUC) in collaboration with Equity Bank and Kenya Forestry Research Institute held a tree planting activity on 1st February, 2022 in the University College. During the activity, members of staff TUC staff, Equity bank, Kenya Forestry Research Institute and TUC students planted over 1,000 tree seedlings. 

Turkana University College recognizes the critical role that environmental conservation plays in its Vision of making the institution a “Globally esteemed University in teaching, research, and outreach. By its location Turkana University College has identified dry land farming alongside mining as a niche area. 

The University intends to plant over 5000 trees within the year. Subsequent tree planting activities will be scheduled and communicated appropriately in order to achieve the target for this year.
