TRAINING ON DRY LAND FARMING


Turkana University College in partnership with the Ministry of Livestock, To Turkana County on 22nd May,2021 organized a Free training for the surrounding community on Dryland farming. The training included hoof trimming, docking and deworming of the animals.


Dry land farming is one of our major ecological niche in Turkana region from which Turkana pastrol community can benefit to prove their livehood through value added services to their livestock.


The University College has made a deliberate efforts to include livestock routine management practices as a prominent activity in the academic calendar together with strategic partners ministry of livestock.


The Dean School of Science and Technology Dr. Edome in his remarks said that livestock management is a core activity of the university because of the pastoral economy which generates revenue for the county residence.


Prof. Cheminig'wa the Ag. Principal in his remarks said that the University college impacts the society around the campus hence the decision to partner with the county livestock production. He also said that the University College shall continue supporting the communi
