Turkana University College considers staff induction an enabler to effective and efficient settlement for its new staff. The university received a total of eight (8) interns from the Public Service Commission. This is the pioneer group of interns from the Public Service Commission assigned to the institution. In his opening remarks, the Principal Prof. George Chemining’wa welcomed them and wished them a very nice stay in TUC as they interact with their new environment. He took them through the history and the mandate of Turkana University College.


The Ag. Deputy Principal, Administration Finance and Planning – Prof. George Muthaa highlighted on the Strategic Plan and the fundamental statements guiding TUC which included the Vision and Mission, Core Values and Objectives. The Ag. Director for Performance Contracting and Quality Management Systems – Dr. Evans Otieno took the participants through the process of Performance Contracting and Quality Assurance Mechanisms by the University. He encouraged them to work hard since they would play a critical role in ensuring the University achieves its 8th Cycle PC targets. The Ag. Registrar Administration had time to interact with them on the Grievances and Disciplinary procedures on staff.


The interns commended the process and appreciated the Management for the warm welcome they were accorded when they reported to TUC and promised to put in their best in contributing to the growth of the institution.

Dean, School of Education and Social Sciences – Dr. Susan Ouko, Senior Assistant Students’ Counselor – Mr. Moses Mwai, The Human Resource Officer – Ms. Violet Simiyu, Representative of the Assistant Librarian – Ms. Irene Maiyo, The Estates In Charge – Mr. Walter Sifuna and the Security In Charge – Mr. Peter Etabo.
