Bridging the Gap: Turkana University College (TUC) Mentors Hundreds at the 10th Annual Suba Admission Day
Every student’s path to success is unique, and at Turkana University College (TUC), we are dedicated to meeting learners right where they are to help them navigate that journey. This mission took our team to the Suba Education Resource Centre on Friday, 13th February 2026, for a landmark event on the regional academic calendar: the 10th Annual Universities, Colleges, and Polytechnics Admission Day.
As a regular participant in this annual tradition, TUC joined fellow educators under the theme “Enhancing Transition to Middle Level Colleges and Universities.” This yearly gathering has become a vital bridge between secondary education and the professional world, and our continued presence underscores TUC’s deep-rooted commitment to expanding access to quality education throughout the region year after year.
The delegation was led by Prof. Hellen Wangechi, Deputy Principal (Academics and Student Affairs), Mr. Paul Odongo, Registrar (Academic Affairs) and Mr. Phelix Mulunda from the University’s Admissions office. For the TUC team, this wasn't just another exhibition; it was an opportunity for genuine, one-on-one mentorship. Our booth became a hub of activity where we sat down with students and parents to have real conversations about academic programmes, admission requirements, and the diverse career pathways that await them at Turkana University College.
For many students, the transition from secondary school to a university can feel like a daunting leap. Our team focused on simplifying that journey, helping learners see exactly how their current subject choices align with the evolving demands of the global job market. By providing this personalized guidance annually, we ensure that each new class of graduates feels empowered and informed.
At TUC, we believe that by reaching out to students in their own communities, we can bridge the gap between youthful aspirations and future professional success. As a key partner in nurturing talent and promoting academic excellence, TUC remains dedicated to empowering young people to pursue their dreams with clarity and purpose. We extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers for maintaining this important annual platform. Together, we are ensuring that the next generation of leaders is not only
educated but truly inspired to reach their full potential.
