A PASTORAL VISIT BY BISHOP JOHN MBINDA TO TURKANA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (TUC) COMMUNITY
Turkana University College (TUC) was honored to host His Lordship Bishop John Mbinda, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lodwar, for a pastoral visit to the university’s Catholic community on February 15, 2026. This visit highlighted the deep-rooted partnership between the Diocese and the University College, underscoring a shared commitment to fostering both intellectual excellence and spiritual growth among students and staff.

Bishop Mbinda, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Ekomwa, was warmly received by the Deputy Principal, Prof. Hellen Wangechi, alongside members of staff and the student body. The central event of the day was a Holy Mass celebrated by the Bishop with the Catholic fraternity at TUC. In his homily, he encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in their faith, to uphold integrity in all academic and professional endeavors, and to serve the community with compassion and dedication.
Following the service, the Bishop engaged in a productive meeting with TUC staff members, representatives of the Catholic Men Association from the Diocese office, and neighboring parishes. This interaction served as an important opportunity for dialogue and reflection on how the Diocese and the University College can continue to work together to promote regional development, moral formation, and community empowerment in Turkana County.
Speaking on the impact of the visit, Prof. Hellen Wangechi expressed the institution's sincere gratitude to Bishop Mbinda and his delegation.
