THIRD ANNUAL MULTI-DISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE

The 3rd Annual Turkana University College Multidisciplinary Conference was held on 25th and 26th May, 2023. The conference was blended (Physical /Virtual). The theme of the conference was “Promoting Sustainable Development in the Post pandemic Era through Research and Innovation”.


The conference was officially opened by the Principal, Prof. George N. Chemining’wa. In his remarks, he welcomed all the researchers to the conference. He encouraged them to share their knowledge and disseminate their researcher findings. Speech link

The keynote speaker was Professor Theo W. Ressa, a professor of Teacher Education in Teacher Education Division, the College of Education, Wayne State University in the USA. Prof. Ressa’s speech emphasized on prioritizing innovation and researches for the improvement of people’s lives, funding research for the expansion of knowledge and diversifying research so as to expand knowledge. He also emphasized on research collaborations with global partners so as to enrich local lifestyles. A total of 26 papers were presented during the conference whereby the researchers shared their knowledge and disseminated their findings as they explored new ways of achieving sustainable development in the post pandemic era.

The participants used the occasion to plant trees to commemorate the day.
