The workshop brought together TUC’s Members of staff, along with technical officers from The National Treasury (TNT) - NALM Department, to enhance knowledge and compliance with best asset management practices. The sessions covered critical topics such as asset management practices in the public sector, legal and regulatory frameworks governing asset management, the 21st Cycle Performance Contract (PC) asset management targets, the National Treasury’s Asset and Liability Management Policy, and a review of TUC’s Asset Register. Through presentations, case studies, and group discussions, participants engaged in hands-on learning, exploring real-world applications of asset and liability management principles.

By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with technical skills to champion best asset management practices, sensitized on the requirements of the 21st Cycle PC asset management targets, and submission of clean and accurate asset register using both manual (Excel) and digital (IFMIS/ERP) systems.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Muthaa commended the participants and facilitators for their dedication, highlighting that the knowledge gained will play a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and accountability in asset management. This workshop reflects TUC’s ongoing commitment to capacity building and adherence to best practices in public management and governance.
