TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

Turkana University College in collaboration with Equity Bank and Kenya Forestry
Research Institute is planning to plant over 5,000 trees in the current year. The
inaugural activity will involve the Lodwar Equity branch and Turkana University
College Community. This inaugural tree planting exercise is scheduled to take
place on Tuesday 1 st February with a target to planting 1,600 tree seedlings.


Turkana University College recognizes the critical role that environmental
conservation could play in its Vision of making the institution a “Globally
esteemed University in teaching, research, and outreach. By its location Turkana
University College has identified dry land farming alongside mining as a niche
area.


All members of the University community are invited to participate in this noble
and important exercise. We wish to thank Equity bank for the partnership to
greening our environment. Subsequent tree planting activities will be scheduled
and communicated appropriately in order to achieve the target for this year.
