Turkana University College Hosts Koitalel Samoei University College for Institutional Benchmarking.6th July 2026Turkana University College (TUC) had the honour of hosting a high-level delegation from Koitalel Samoei University College (KSUC) for a comprehensive institutional benchmarking exercise aimed at promoting knowledge exchange, strengthening collaboration, and sharing best practices in higher education.
The delegation, comprising ten senior university officers, was received by the Deputy Principal (Research, Innovation and Linkages), Prof. Peter Edome, on behalf of the University College. The team toured key facilities across the campus before holding consultative discussions with the University leadership on areas critical to institutional growth and development.
Recognized for its outstanding performance in the Performance Contracting Evaluation, Turkana University College was identified as a key partner for this knowledge exchange and institutional benchmarking exercise, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence, effective governance, quality service delivery, and continuous institutional improvement. Discussions covered key areas including the academic programmes offered by the University College, student enrolment, the Electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and Turkana University College's progress towards the award of a university charter. The delegation also explored institutional policies, administrative processes, and innovative practices that have contributed to the University's continued growth and performance.
The visit underscored the growing collaboration among Kenya's institutions of higher learning and reaffirmed the importance of benchmarking as a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge, strengthening institutional capacity, and promoting continuous improvement. Such engagements enable universities to learn from one another, adopt best practices, and enhance excellence in teaching, research, innovation, governance, and service delivery.
