This large-scale planting exercise symbolized a renewed commitment to environmental restoration, biodiversity conservation, and the creation of a more resilient and sustainable campus ecosystem.
The active participation of TUC staff alongside technical teams from KEFRI and KFS demonstrated the strength of inter-institutional collaboration in advancing environmental goals. The exercise also served as a reminder that meaningful environmental change is achieved through consistent, coordinated, and inclusive action. Beyond the physical planting of trees, the event reinforced the importance of environmental awareness and stewardship within academic institutions. It emphasized the role of universities as key drivers of sustainability, knowledge exchange, and community transformation.
Turkana University College extends sincere appreciation to the Kenya Forestry Research Institute and the Kenya Forest Service for their partnership and support in promoting environmental conservation and building a greener and more sustainable future for Turkana and beyond.
