The School of Science and Technology recognizes the central role of Science and Technology in the overall industrialization and social transformation of our country. Consequently, the school plays a critical role by providing quality education based on modern scientific teaching approaches and to produce high level professional graduates to address societal challenges affecting humanity. As a school, we strive to be on the leading cutting edge in terms of teaching, research and consultancies, collaborations and linkages both locally and internationally.
The school has two teaching departments, each headed by a Head of Department (HoD) or a Chairman of Department (CoD).

Minimum requirements: The common regulations for Doctorate Degree programmes specified in MMUST School of Graduate Studies shall apply. Applicants require a Master’s Degree or its equivalent in Environmental Science or Studies, Biochemistry, Ecology, Environmental Education, Natural Resources Management, Social Sciences, Water Resources Management, Earth Science, Geology, Ecosystem Health, Health Sciences, Environmental Health or Veterinary Sciences. Holders of other degrees without a sound grounding in Environmental Science at Master level will be required to audit relevant courses.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Geology, Archaeology or Anthropology with 2nd Class Honors, Upper Division, from a recognized University or Bachelors degree with 2nd Class Honors, Lower Division, from a recognized university with relevant 2 years’ working experience.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 2nd Class Honors, Upper Division, in a relevant field or Bachelor’s degree with 2nd Class Honors, Lower Division, in a relevant field with two (2) years’ relevant experience from a recognized Institution.
Minimum requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree with at least second class Upper Division or a cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or its equivalent in relevant areas of science. Holders of a Second Class Honours Degree Lower Division or a GPA of 2.50 on a scale of 4.00 with additional proven relevant training, or work experience/research ability evidenced by published work in refereed journals, or a postgraduate qualification in the relevant field.
Minimum requirements: Minimum entry requirement of C+ (plus) in KCSE as stipulated in the common university entrance regulations. In addition, at least grade C+ (plus) in Biology/Biological Sciences and Mathematics and a C (plain) in Chemistry or Physics or KNEC diploma or its equivalent in Agriculture or related field.
Minimum requirements: Minimum entry requirement of C+ (plus) in KCSE as stipulated in the common university entrance regulations. In addition, at least grade C+ in Biology/Biological Sciences and Chemistry and a C (plain) in Mathematics and English or KNEC diploma or its equivalent in Agriculture or related field.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of a C+ (plus) in KCSE and a C+ (plus) in Biology or Biological Sciences and C (plain) in Mathematics, or 2 Principal passes at A-level, one of which must be in Biology, or Diploma in relevant area of study (may be exempted in relevant units).
Minimum requirements: Minimum entry requirement of C+ (plus) in KCSE as stipulated in the common university entrance regulations. In addition, at least grade B- (minus) in Biology/Biological Sciences, B- (minus) in Geography, C+ (plus) in Chemistry or B- (minus) in Physical Sciences and a C+ (plus) in Mathematics in KCSE or equivalent examination. An added advantage is given to students who have passed with at least a C (plain) grade in Agriculture or Economics at KCSE or equivalent, or KNEC diploma or its equivalent in Agriculture or related field.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of a C+ (plus) in KCSE with C- (minus) in English, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Mathematics at EACE or Diploma in Community Health and Science from a recognized Institution.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of a C+ (plus) in KCSE with C- (minus) in each of the following: Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry or KNEC Diploma in relevant Technical Education from a recognized Institution.
Minimum requirements: KCSE Mean Grade of C+ (plus), with at least a C+ (plus) in Mathematics and Physics/Physical Science, or KACE with at least 2 Principal passes in Mathematics and Physics and 1 subsidiary pass, or Accredited Diploma in Computer Science/IT or related field with at least a credit pass from a Commission for Higher Education accredited and validated institution, or KNEC Diploma holders in Computer studies with at least a credit pass and a mean grade of C (plain) in KCSE.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE and at least a C+ (plus) in Mathematics, or 2 Principal passes in relevant science subjects and a subsidiary pass at A-level, 1 of the Principals must be in Mathematics.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE or its equivalent as determined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), or KNEC diploma or its equivalent in fisheries and aquaculture or related field.
Minimum requirements: Mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE or its equivalent as determined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), or KNEC diploma or its equivalent in environmental science or related field.
Minimum requirements: Minimum mean grade of C- (Minus) in KCSE with at least D+ (plus) in English and Mathematics or Certificate in IT related discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum requirements: Minimum Mean grade of C- (Minus) in KCSE with D+ (plus) in each of the following: Mathematics, Physics or Physical Sciences or a KNEC Craft Certificate from a recognized institution.
Minimum requirements: Minimum mean grade C- (Minus) in KCSE or KCE Division II or KACE with at least 1 principal Pass or Certificate in the relevant area from MMUST or any other recognized institution.
Minimum requirements: Minimum mean grade C- (minus) in KCSE with at least D+ (plus) in either Biology or Chemistry or Certificate in Community Health and Development from a recognized institution.
Minimum requirements: Minimum entry requirements for the certificate course shall be D (plain) in KCSE or the relevant artisan course.
