China comes to Kenya
Turkana University College was proud to host a delegation from the Chinese Confucius Institute (Nairobi) on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the university main hall. The team comprised of the Deputy Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Zhang Zhizhong among others. In his remarks, the deputy ambassador encouraged TUC to explore its potential to form partnerships with universities in China in areas of mutual interest and, to explore the possibility of the establishment of a Confucius institute in Turkana.

The visitors showcased dress, art work, language and stole the show with their captivating lion dance. The highlight of the evening was screening of a movie titled ‘I am whom I am’ which had valuable life lessons. Turkana university students expressed interest in learning Chinese culture and language and it was indicated that it was possible for students to access Chinese scholarships.
The university appreciates the Peoples republic of China for their warm visit and for their generosity.
